How much does a copywriter cost in the UK?

The VouchQuote team ·

Person typing on a laptop

Most UK copywriting projects cost between £100 and £1,200. Good writers price by the project or the page, not by the word, because the thinking takes longer than the typing.

Typical prices

  • A single web page or landing page: £100–£350
  • A five-page website: £500–£1,200
  • A blog article of around 1,000 words: £100–£300
  • An email welcome sequence: £300–£800

What changes the price

Specialist or regulated subjects, interviews with your team, search optimisation and tight deadlines all add to the cost. So does starting without a clear idea of who the reader is.

How to brief a copywriter

  • Who the reader is and what you want them to do next
  • Two or three examples of writing you like, and one you do not
  • The pages or pieces you need, with rough lengths
  • Who signs it off, and by when

Revisions

Two rounds of changes is standard. Ask every writer to state the number of rounds in their quote and what further changes would cost.
